Mao Nishida Nishida Mao

Born in Tokyo. Spent his childhood in India and Kamakura, where he was exposed to diverse cultures and colors. After gaining experience at a graphic design firm, he went independent in 2010.
His creative work is based on two pillars: one is "DRAWING," which captures the charm and emotion of the people and scenery in front of him, and the other is "ILLUSTRATION," which weaves together the ideas and characters that arise in his head.
While valuing the feel of analog media such as ink, colored pencils, watercolors, acrylics, and pens, he creates simple digital drawings that make use of white space and the rhythm of lines.
In his client work, he has a wide range of expertise in advertising, book design, brand key visuals, magazines (TRANSIT, Pen, dancyu, etc.), and the fields of culture, fashion, and food.
He particularly enjoys portraying people, and while honing his observational skills through daily drawing, he also creates live portraits for VIPs at events and brands.
He has also been involved in many alcohol-related projects, and has developed a "BEER LOVER" series of merchandise. Drawing his travels and everyday life is his life's work, and he captures the atmosphere of the places and people he meets both at home and abroad with warm lines and colors.
